Solar eclipse – embrace your creativity – open your eyes and mind
Have you been feeling deflated? Fed up? Even hopeless? You’re not alone. I work with many different individuals in various professions. from corporate to creative artists and many have been having these feelings.
Maybe you wrote down your goals at the beginning of the year and things haven’t gone to plan. You probably thought by writing them down that they are set in stone and you can’t change your mind. You’ve perhaps read books that have say the most successful people stick to their goals and initial vision. But there is a difference between having goals and vision. Your goals can change but your vision should not – it is the long term dream of where you want to be.
So should we change our goals? The answer is yes – goals can change because what you want to achieve at the beginning of January might not be what you want to accomplish when April comes around. Why? Because external situations and circumstances may and do change.
I recommend that you remain flexible and adaptable. This allows you to open up to new opportunities and possibilities. Let go of what was not working for you and turn your mind and energy to what excites you, generates more energy and creativity. And of course, remember that April is only the fourth month of the year and you have many more months to create some magic!
Take action by reviewing your goals and ask yourself if some need adjusted, updated, changed or let go? It’s ok to change your mind.
When you have a vision you create it from the information you have at the time but life gets in the way bringing challenges but also new, even better opportunities so keep an open mind. This leads to a creative life.
Just this morning I was talking to a colleague about these feelings and as is often the case we put it down to the weather. This is not surprising really as here in Scotland the weather has been dire, certainly not like Spring, with torrential rain, storms and wind. However, we are fortunate not to have the earthquakes and flooding that many other countries have where people lose their homes and belongings. When you start to think of them, then we should really be grateful but this is easier said than done.
So I wondered if I could motivate and inspire you and that’s why I post my ‘Pats Pup Park Pootles’ showing my walks in nature with the family dogs. Now I know some people have voiced their views on not wanting to see lots of posts about dogs but they are really missing the point. It’s not about the dogs but the fact that I am out in nature, surrounded by birds, trees, ducks in the pond, the river and skies, even if they are grey. You see nature puts a new perspective on everything – so get out into nature if you can. If this is difficult for you then please view my short videos, then close your eyes, and using my ABC imagine you are there.
Also whether you know it or not, a solar eclipse reminds you to embrace enthusiasm, passion, creativity and get you thinking about new beginnings.
So back to how you’ve been feeling. Have you been feeling frustrated at how slow things are going, even putting things off then today is the day to think of new beginnings, just like the solar eclipse. Even if we are not fortunate to view the eclipse it can still impact us.
Life has many challenges causing intense emotions, even conflicts in relationships, personal or career.
Take time not to express yourself clearly and confidently so that when you engage with others any conversations are more productive. I know I often recommend you use your intuition but in challenging times when we have these negative feelings then I suggest you use logic rather than emotion. This is because when you use your intuition you are sometimes too close to the situation that you can’t see the whole picture clearly. So take a few moments to think about your situation and your goals – ask yourself are there things (people, goals, other aspects of your life) you can let go of that no longer serve you to be the best you can be.
Once you have done this I recommend making my ABC your good habit. These techniques are proven psychologically effective tools for improving your mental, emotional, psychological and overall wellbeing. They help you to be more creative and creativity builds resilience. With resilience and courage you can face the challenges of life, even seeing them as opportunities.
Finally, as this is the time of the solar eclipse it brings some amazing energy moving across the sky so seek out all the possibilities and opportunities that await you. Of course, this means hard work so roll up your sleeves, move forward and you will be surprised at what you can achieve, even miracles you can create.
Don’t waste time. It’s never too late to start.
Remember to smile and laugh, they cost you nothing.
Virtual hugs to you all.
