Have you ever thought that you’d made a mess of something important and you think there is nothing you can do to change it?
I know I have. I look back with remorse and wish ‘If only I hadn’t said this’ or ‘If only I hadn’t done that’.
If like me you have thought this, you probably have spent ages (maybe days, even months, perhaps years) condemning yourself for having failed to stop and think – we all know the phrase – think before you speak but in a moment of anger or frustration that’s the last thing you do. But afterwards you ask yourself ‘What could I have been thinking?’ Of course what really happened at the time was that you were not thinking at all.
So what can you do? You can learn from this so you don’t make the same mistake or at least make fewer mistakes in the future. You grow stronger and wiser. It won’t be plain sailing of course, life isn’t like that and we are human after all, we do make mistakes.
If you’ve done something you are not proud of then sincerely apologise and hope that you are forgiven. If you’re not forgiven then forgive yourself and move on in the knowledge that you will try not to make the same mistake.
Sending goods thoughts to you all.
